What to Watch

  • Peel Street North Reconstruction (OPS.26.043): Council is being asked to direct staff to incorporate streetscape design studies into future major road reconstruction projects, integrating the needs of all road users with neighbourhood aesthetics — triggered by resident correspondence.
  • 9th Sideroad road closure (ADM.26.068): Staff are recommending Council proceed with a public meeting to consider permanently stopping up and closing a portion of the 9th Sideroad — a formal land disposition process that will open the matter to public input.
  • Sunset Boulevard zoning amendment (PBS.26.068): Council is considering rezoning a lot on Sunset Boulevard from Residential One and Hazard zones to a site-specific exception with a holding provision, enabling future residential development subject to conditions.
  • Telecom tower at Fire Hall #2 (PBS.26.079): Council is being asked to support a proposed 24.38-metre telecommunications tower at the new Fire Hall #2 site on Grey Road 19 and forward that support to ISED Canada for federal approval.
  • Craigleith infrastructure Q2 update (OPS.26.042): A Q2 2026 financial update on the Craigleith Main Sewage Lift Station, Bay-Grey Street Reconstruction, and Mill Street SPS is on the consent agenda for information.
