Owen Sound Council Meeting – Regular — Monday, September 28, 2026 @ 5:30 PM

What to Watch

  • Farewell to Outgoing Members (7.a): The City Manager will formally recognize the public service of Councillors Farmer, Dodd, Koepke, and Mayor Boddy — a strong signal this is one of the final sittings of the current council term.
  • New Integrity Commissioner (11.a): Council will consider appointing a replacement Integrity Commissioner, the independent officer responsible for investigating complaints about elected officials’ conduct — a notable governance appointment heading into a new term.
  • Bayshore Community Centre – Budget Amendment (11.c): A budget amendment is sought to cover replacement of Unit Heaters 2 and 6 at the Bayshore Community Centre, a capital maintenance item for the city’s main arena and event facility.
  • Three Sets of Committee Recommendations (12.a, 12.b, 12.c): Council will vote on action items from the Community Services (Sept. 23), Corporate Services (Sept. 10), and Operations (Sept. 24) committees. Note: the Community Services and Operations minutes are still being finalized and will be tabled at the meeting.
  • Ten By-Laws for Passage (21.a–21.j): Ten numbered by-laws are listed for enactment; no titles have been published with the agenda, so their scope is unknown ahead of the meeting.
